Force restart iPhone

What if your iPhone is dead frozen and doesn’t want to turn on.

There is a bug in recent generations of iPhones that you might want to be aware of, especially when traveling and heavily relying on your smartphone.

It might happen that all of a sudden your iPhone doesn't turn back on. You might want to print this email or at least the attached image so you have instructions on how to bring your iPhone back to life.

If the iPhone isn't responding and you can't turn it off and on, try forcing it to restart. Before you panic, make sure the iPhone is sufficiently charged by connecting it to a known good charger for at least 15 minutes.

Force Restart iPhone procedure:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.

  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.

  3. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.*

*Be patient; this can take a while.
